Flyer & Poster

Final A5 flyer:

Final posters:

Was tinkering with the map in my Design For Print session and Mike taught me a cool way to make them using strokes on Illustrator. Bit late considering I've done it now but I think it will be very useful in future. He also told me about Clockwork in Armley, who repair macs. I took mine there after lunch and they're gonna have it fixed for Tuesday, yay!

Instructional Leaflet

Finally got this in a layout I liked. Used the paragraph alignment thing Mike taught me in Design For Print on Monday.

Sewing Instructions

Been working on the illustrations for the cross stitching guide. Tried to keep it clean and simple so its easy to understand in the leaflet. And I didn't live trace anything for once!

Idiom Mock-Ups

These are pretty awful, but at least I know that and my tutorial has helped me come up with ways to rectify this. I think the peeling banana and the scratch offs work best so I can build upon these now.

Tutorial Feedback

Today I showed Fred the mock ups of my christmas card packs and my idioms cards. I have done lots of work on the cards and will hopefully get these finished by the end of next week, I just need to finish off the leaflets and print the toppers, pattern cards and leaflets onto better stock in the digital print room.

The exhibition one is going quite well too, this will hopefully be finished for the crit in 2 weeks time. I need to brighten up the blues and stick to a clean Modernist style.

The idioms brief hasn't been going as well, I made mock ups but they were really poorly crafted and my interpretation on the phrases was far too literal. I also need to focus on the mechanism and fit the phrase to it, rather than doing crappy illustrations. So I need to choose either 1 or 3 different ways of interacting with paper and do all 6 phrases like that.

Action Plan

Occasions - Cross Stitch
- Complete instructional leaflet and refine text
- Digital print onto better stock
- Change size of topper
- Finish 'eggnog' cross stitch piece
- Photograph all together & in context

Doing My Head In - Idioms
- Develop test pieces and improve visual quality & finish
- Find a better way to tie them all together - develop envelope/band idea
- Test different stocks
- Photograph

Yin Yang - Exhibition
- Refine flyer
- Turn into leaflet
- Turn into poster
- Try different stocks
- Photoshop into different locations
- Complete board designs on InDesign
- Create mock up of room
- Print some images and type (vinyl cutter) large scale to photograph on an actual wall.
